Brazilian Hot Dogs

I spent a couple of years in Brazil serving an LDS mission. One of my favorite dinners there was the hot dog dinner sold out of hot dog carts. It’s no plain dog. The Brazilian hot dog is a traditional dog on bun topped with mashed potatoes, corn, cheese, mayonaise, ketchup and little batata fritas (potato noodles). I use chow mein noodles and it works great. I had one tonight (thanks, Katrina!) and it really took me back. Great stuff. Try it out, you’ll be surprised at how good it is.

    sounds good!
try some sauteed onions, and sliced or diced hot dogs (also fried up a bit), adding crushed fresh tomatoes or stewed tomatoes to it all, serving this on top of steamed rice or even left over mexican red rice!

  2. Hey, Nils… I know this is an old post, but I am Brazilian and I would like to give you some tips about the hot dog stuff… I would replace the chow mein noodles for crubled potato chips (like ruffles, lays…) You can also use spaguetti sauce with the sausage (remeber that the Brazilian has some sauce?) And put some grated cheese too! Ow, and also, replace the sliced bread for plain burger bread. Wish you the best!
